This study focused on intercountry adoptive parents’ knowledge, beliefs and experiences about speech and language development. Data were collected via an online questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. Parents linked their child’s speech and language development to the adoption, child’s attachment abilities, school experiences, and professionals and services accessed. The results highlighted the complexity of this developmental process and provided insight into the way that their knowledge, beliefs and experiences influence their behaviours and interactions as parents
