In airplanes and launch vehicles, hydraulics, mechanical and pneumatic systems are progressively being replaced by electric systems for technical and industrial reasons. However, these new electric systems have to take into account the economical and weight reliability constraints of the aeronautics industry, ensuring the required reliability. Therefore, novel high reliability multi-machine and multi-converter topologies are compared to standard structures looking forward to find solutions that can be industrially implemented. Then, series-coupled machine topologies were chosen for this work.
