In this thesis, we study two production planning problems motivated by challenging real-world applications. First, a production planning problem for an apparel manufacturing project is studied and an optimization tool is developed to tackle it. Second, a restricted version of the capacitated lot sizing problem with sequence dependent setups is explored.
