An extended presence of humans in space requires an in-situ capability to construct various permanent structures to support scientific research, power generation, communication, radiation shielding and other functions. Electron Beam (EB) vacuum brazing has been identified as one of the best joining processes for in-space joining, particular for making a large quantity of permanent joints as required for construction of the sizeable truss structures.
