Three conducting lecture-recitals constitute this dissertation project. The first consisted of various performances by the University of Michigan Symphony Band and Concert Band. The Symphony Band Chamber Winds performed Dixtuor, op. 14 by George Enescu on October 22, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Ann Arbor. “Selections from The Danserye” by Tielman Susato (arranged by Patrick Dunnigan) was performed on November 25, 2013 by the Concert Band in Hill Auditorium. The Symphony Band Chamber Winds performed Concerto for Nine Instruments, op. 24 by Anton Webern and The Maple Leaf Rag and The Entertainer by Scott Joplin (arranged by Gunther Schuller) on February 21, 2014 in Stamps Auditorium.
