The Desa Wisata Terpadu as a vector of sustainable development in Bali ?

International audienceThe international diffusion of sustainable tourism requires the invention of syncretic models adapted to the sociocultural characteristics of local societies. That is the challenge of the desa wisata terpady policy created in 1992 by the Indonesian government. This model promotes the establishment of an archetype of sustainable development adapted to the characteristics of the local villages. In Bali, 44 villages have been officially registered as such by the Ministry of Tourism of Indonesia (2017). The purpose of this first work is use cases study on two particular villages judged to be successfully-run, to analyze the capacity of this innovative model to meet the expectation of sustainable tourism while respecting the specificities of each village.La diffusion internationale du développement touristique durable nécessite l'invention de nouveaux modèles syncrétiques adapés aux caractérisitiques socioculturelles des sociétés locales. C'est le défi des villages touristiques intégrés, créés par le gouvernement indonésien en 1992. Ce modèle promeut la mise en place d'un archétype de développement touristique adapté aux particularismes des villages locaux. A Bali, 44 villages ont été obtenu la certification, par le Ministère du tourisme indonésien (2017). L'objet de cette première étude est d'étudier le cas de deux villages ayant construit un modèle considéré comme réussi, afin d'en comprendre les modes de fonctionnement et leur capacité à répondre tant aux exigences du développement durable qu'aux besoins des villageois
