[eng] Abstract Hospitals specialised for the sick children appeared at the beginning of the nineteenth century. Before, children were mixed with the adults. However, in the middle of the eighteenth century, practitioners and administrators, conscious of the dangers of such a fact, thought to establish hospitals specialised for the children.
