Purpose: In ‘Coming across information serendipitously: Part 1 – A process model’ we identified common elements of researchers’ experiences of ‘coming across information serendipitously.’ These experiences involve a mix of unexpectedness and insight and lead to a valuable, unanticipated outcome.
