For the past two decades, artist-endowed foundations have been making their presence felt across America. These charitable foundations, endowed by artists, are dramatically changing the arts landscape. Although federal funding for the arts is decreasing, artist-endowed foundations are increasing in number and revenue.These foundations focus on grant-making for artists, arts organizations, museums, artsrelated research, arts education, scholarships, and programs for artists.
