Earlier research has established the role of CSR practices in engaging employees, both in general and specifically in the hospitality and tourism industries. However, less is known about the details of this relationship. This article focuses on understanding how CSR practices induce engagement in employees and proposes that fulfilment of ideological employer obligations (ideological currency) and CSR supporting HR practices (CSHR) help explain the relationship between CSR and employee engagement.
