CULTURE AND PROJECT ORGANIZATIONS

The success of a project-like approach is not only dependent of more or less objective factors such as market, technology and product, but equally of the people who (help) carry out those projects. Based on the discussion, it appears that the project organization again is a typical Western form of organization which may lead to unequalled successes in Western cultures, but outside of which successful implementations are at least dubious. In order to be able to demonstrate the effects of culture on project-like organization forms, the author uses the results of a recent study of the relation between culture and organizational structure
