Sitting is related to all-cause mortality, cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. Sedentary behavior is generally understood as “sitting or reclining while expending ≤1.5 metabolic equivalents” and the interesting aspect of sedentary behavior is that it is a modifiable health risk.
