Data used in the analysis presented in Myers, S. and Johns, S.E. (2019). Male infants and birth complications are associated with increased incidence of postnatal depression. Social Science & Medicine 220: 56-64. The data reflects the complete reproductive histories of post-menopausal women collected by retrospective survey. Respondents reported details about every birth they had experienced and were assessed on a number of demographic and psychological measures. Valid responses from 306 women were received. Most women did the majority of their childrearing in the UK (74.7%), followed by the United States (12.6%), and the rest of the World (12.7%) - this data is omitted to ensure participant anonymity.
