Atferd, preferanser og syn på forvaltning blant ulike fiskergrupper i Trysil

The goal of this study was to examine different angler segments, and look at their behavior, preferences and views on fishery management. Our data were based on an e-mail survey (response rate 50%) of inland anglers in the angling destination Trysil, where especially brown trout (Salmo trutta) and grayling (Thymallus thymallus) are targeted. A cluster analysis based on 653 respondents and their specialization level in fishing (as measured by the three domains behavior, skill/knowledge, and commitment), revealed three angler groups: Generalists, medium specialists and specialists. The segments differed in specialization, behavior, satisfaction, and in their views on management actions, catch and release, and fly-fishing zones in Trysil. All segments were mainly satisfied with their overall fishing experience in Trysil, though larger trout and grayling in the catches could further increase their satisfaction level
