Presents an analysis of the substantive disciplinary structure of geography. The analysis is made with the assistance of quantitative methods of content analysis. The content analyses enable: 1) the identification of the 'thematic elements' of an article, and 2) representation of the sequence and repetition of ideas through an article. These data are used to assist recognition of the key concepts in geography and of aspects of their relatedness, i.e. structure. It is argued that the delineation of the conceptual structure of geography may be of use to curriculum workers in that discipline. -Autho
