Methods: Fifty-five nonprofessional athletes (mean age, 44.8 T 7.1 yr) participating in a 9-consecutive-day mountain cycling ultramarathon (TransPortugal) underwent anthropometric, hematological, and biochemical assessments before and immediately after the race.
