Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) is one of the most important vegetable crops commonly grown in soilless culture. It is widely consumed in Malaysia. Limited fresh water resources and fluctuating fertilizer prices, as well as excessive fertigation used by local growers, have led to higher costs and also wastage in water and fertilizer use.
