PELAKSANAAN PEMBINAAN TERHADAP NARAPIDANA LANJUT USIA YANG MELAKUKAN TINDAK PIDANA (Studi Pada Lapas Kelas 1 Malang)

Penitentiary is a criminal justice system that functions to foster and repair convicts so that convicts return to normal life in society. During the process of punishment the prisoners have several rights that must be fulfilled, which rights have been regulated in Article 14 paragraph (1) of Law No.12 of 1995 concerning Corrections. In order to obtain these rights, prisoners must also carry out their obligations properly while at the Correctional Institution, all prisoners must attend all activities at the Penitentiary without the exception of elderly prisoners. The compiler research method used is a field research method that is conducting direct interviews with the prisoners of the prison inmates of the elderly who contain coaching inmates while at the Penitentiary, as well as conducting interviews with officers or employees at the Penitentiary. The object of the study is the Malang Class I Penitentiary. Based on this, the main problem is formulated, namely how to foster elderly prisoners in Malang Class I Correctional Institution and what are the constraints during the coaching. After discussion and analysis, it can be concluded that the guidance carried out by the Malang Class I Correctional Institution in providing coaching staff uses a mental approach. As well as in all activities and guidance programs oriented to Law No. 12 of 1995 concerning Correctional Services. Although in the Correctional Law itself it is not explained in detail regarding special guidance for elderly prisoners, but officers took the initiative to divide or specialize elderly prisoners to follow only one program that was considered easy and did not require a lot of energy, such as spiritual formation. In an activity, of course, it cannot be separated from a constraint or obstacle, so also in coaching in Malang Class I Penitentiary which has several obstacles such as lack of human resources and lack of facilities and infrastructure, one of which is excess capacity. get a decent and comfortable place. As for some of these obstacles, it did not dampen the success of the guidance program carried out in Malang Class 1 Penitentiary Institution as evidenced by the lack of recidivities
