Marlowe Building - Roof Extension with High degree of Adaptability and Disassembly

The project is a feasibility study for the extension of Kent School of Architecture. The School is growing fast and it needs new learning space. The project aims to build a roof extension on top of the existing building where the school is currently housed. The whole design has been driven by Circular Economy principles. First of all the spaces have been designed with a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to allow a long-term legacy for the future multiple use within the University Canterbury Campus. In addition, the whole structure has been conceive for an easy disassembly to keep the long-term value of the construction material thanks to a modular constructional approach and by specific bespoke joinery. The project has been selected by the Green Design Committee to be exhibited during the 7th Design Biennale in Sarajevo, from the 11th until the 18th of October 2017
