In this paper, the authors refer to the power imbalance which generally exists between the researcher and the researched and suggest that action research is a means to lessen the power often held by the researcher. The paper reports on how a group of 9 autistic adults got together to talk on-line about sociology and the issues that this method of working created and raised for some of the participants and the group as a whole. It is often said that autistic adults are likely to find Internet discussion groups easier than face-to- face interactions, and this was the case.
