This is the rather unusual question that the authors of this book invite readers to ponder. Not by hitting them with a systematic demonstration that would aim, point by point, to prove or disprove the validity of a comparison, but by proceeding in small steps. By studying a series of themes closely related to the experience of domination.This book discusses the commitments, policies and representations related to the domination and colonization; it examines the forms of resistance to domination; then it studies how dominated think themselves and how, sometimes, their words intersect; Finally, it widens the horizon in dealing with the way the issues of minorities in the world are conceptualized.To build this work, Ermine brought together authors who, for some, are internationally renowned, and for others, are young researchers. Par l’étude successive d’une série de thèmes intimement corrélés à l’expérience de la domination.Ce livre évoque les engagements, les politiques et les représentations liées à la domination et à la colonisation ; il aborde les formes de résistance à la domination ; puis, il étudie la façon dont les dominés se pensent et dont, parfois, leurs discours se croisent ; enfin, il élargit l’horizon en traitant de la façon dont les questions de minorités dans le monde sont conceptualisées.Pour bâtir cet ouvrage, Ermine a réuni des auteurs qui, pour les uns, sont de renommée internationale et, pour les autres, sont de jeunes chercheurs.
