Driving a vehicle in the fog requires the integration of noisy visual information with expectations about the visual road scene, in order to search for visual clues important for navigating. The visual search and identification of relevant objects can be seen as decision-making processes where sensory information is accumulated and where the expectations about the target object and its context are integrated.
