Today we know that the reduction in serum T concentration (late onset hypogonadism) observed with age can be associated with an overall unhealthy status of the body. Moreover, the prevalence of obesity, metabolic syndrome and diabetes increases with age, and these conditions are significantly associated with hypogonadism, as assessed by sexual symptoms and low serum T levels in spite of normal LH.
