Gender relations in the experiences of Portuguese language teachers.

The question that guided this research is the following: what understanding do the Portuguese language teachers have about gender relations? For this, I have as a general objective to understand the understanding and how they experience, as Portuguese language teachers, the gender relations. In addition, I elaborated on the following specific objectives: to register the discourses of the Po rtuguese Language teachers regarding gender relations from their academic and professional experiences; to find out how the teachers deal with the theme in their pedagogical practices; to perceive the motivations that lead or not the teachers to include in their pedagogical practices this question; and understand how they observe this in the schools in which they operate. Getting in touch with the studies on gender relations was a very significant moment in my teacher education, because it is imperative to understand that there are social and historical interferences about the way we understand and interact with gender relations (LOURO 1997, 2000 ; With this, the school is a relevant training space for students, students, teachers and teachers (PIMENTA, 2012; TARDIF, 2002,2014; ALARCÃO, 2011; GAUTHIER, 1998), since it is in this school that discourses and practices are produced and disseminated which interfere with the way we see and how we act in the world (Scott, 1995, Botton, Strey, 2013, Ways, 2000 and Swain, 2009). And among the various discourses, the way we understand, perceive and interact with gender relations ends up becoming a priority study in contemporary times. The participants who contributed to this study were four teachers of the Portuguese language of basic education, from the city of Pelotas, RS, who were my colleagues during the course of my graduation in Letters, at the Federal University of Pelotas. As a methodology, observations and interviews were used, which generated the following categories (GOMES, 2010): "Beginning and unmanned teachers"; "Interference of gender relations in the devaluation of the teaching profession"; "Teaching in the children's imagination of teachers"; "The predominance of women in teaching"; and finally, "The teachers and the relations with their colleagues, students and students". Among the main results are the actions of teachers Aline and Carla, who put into practice activities that allowed their students to reflect on gender relations and the interference of gender relations in the devaluation of the teaching profession, in addition, it is also possible to highlight an opposite situation through the teachers Luana and Caroline, who have shown that they are more reserved on the subject.Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior - CAPESA pergunta que norteou esta pesquisa é a seguinte: qual entendimento que as professoras de Língua Portuguesa têm sobre as relações de gênero? Para isso, tracei como objetivo geral compreender qual o entendimento e de que forma experienciam, enquanto professoras de Língua Portuguesa, as relações de gênero. Além disso, elaborei os seguintes objetivos específicos: registrar os discursos das professoras de Língua Portuguesa a respeito das relações de gêneros a partir de suas experiências acadêmicas e profissionais; averiguar de que forma as docentes lidam com a temática em suas práticas pedagógicas; perceber quais as motivações que levam ou não as professoras a incluir em suas práticas pedagógicas esta questão; e compreender como elas observam este assunto nas escolas em que atuam. Entrar em contado com os estudos sobre as relações de gênero foi um momento bastante significativo da minha formação docente, isso porque, é imprescindível compreender que existem interferências sociais e históricas sobre a maneira como entendemos e interagimos com as relações de gênero (LOURO 1997, 2000; GOELLNER, 2010). Com isso, a escola é um espaço relevante de formação para alunos, alunas, professores e professoras (PIMENTA, 2012; TARDIF, 2002,2014; ALARCÃO, 2011; GAUTHIER, 1998), pois é nela que são produzidos e disseminados discursos e práticas que interferem na maneira como enxergamos e como agimos no mundo (SCOTT, 1995; BOTTON, STREY, 2013; WEEKS, 2000; SWAIN, 2009). E dentre os vários discursos, a maneira como entendemos, percebemos e interagimos com as relações de gênero acaba por vir a ser um estudo prioritário na contemporaneidade. As participantes que contribuíram com este estudo foram quatro professoras de Língua Portuguesa da educação básica, da cidade de Pelotas/RS, e que foram minhas colegas durante a realização da minha graduação em Letras, na Universidade Federal de Pelotas. Como metodologia, foram utilizadas observações e entrevistas, as quais geraram as seguintes categorias (GOMES, 2010): “Professoras iniciantes e desacomodadas”; “As interferências das relações de gênero na desvalorização da profissão docente”; “A docência no imaginário infantil das professoras”; “A predominância das mulheres na docência”; e por fim, “As professoras e as relações com seus colegas, alunos e alunas”. Dentre os principais resultados estão as ações das professoras Aline e Carla, as quais colocaram em prática atividades que possibilitaram aos seus alunos e alunas refletirem sobre as relações de gênero e as interferências das relações de gênero na desvalorização da profissão docente; além disso, é possível destacar também uma situação oposta através das professoras Luana e Caroline, as quais demonstraram serem mais reservadas sobre o assunto
