O PROCESSO DE INTERNACIONALIZAÇÃO DE UMA EMPRESA DE SOFTWARE PARA MODA:DA INCUBADORA AO INVESTIMENTO DIRETO NO EXTERIOR

This paper aims to analyze the internationalization process from 1996 to 2010 of a company that develops software for fashion. The theoretical foundations of the article include the theories of internationalization with special attention to the Nordic School of International Business, the approach of the networks, as well as research on specific software firms, born globals and international entrepreneurship. The survey used the technique of case study, qualitative, exploratory and descriptive. Data were collected from primary sources such as semi-structured interviews and questionnaires, and secondary sources. The data from the interviews and documents were repeatedly reviewed, coded and analyzed for their content and meaning, to identify the categories under consideration. Among the factors seen fleeing theoretical approaches, are cited the heels of the steps outlined by them and not exclusive preference for countries with lower psychic distance. It was also relevant to the international orientation of the entrepreneurs, whose social networks encompassed international actors who sometimes influenced the process, confirming the approach of the networks.Este trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o processo de internacionalização entre os anos de 1996 e 2010 de uma empresa catarinense de desenvolvimento de softwares de moda. Os fundamentos teóricos do artigo compreendem as teorias de internacionalização com especial atenção à escola nórdica de negócios internacionais, a abordagem das networks, além de pesquisas específicas sobre as empresas de software, born globals e empreendedorismo internacional. A pesquisa realizada utilizou a técnica do estudo de caso, qualitativo, exploratório e descritivo. Os dados foram coletados a partir de fontes primárias, tais como entrevistas semi-estruturas e questionário, e fontes secundárias. Os dados oriundos das entrevistas e dos documentos foram repetidamente revistos, codificados e analisados quanto ao seu conteúdo e significados, visando identificar as categorias em apreciação. Dentre os fatores observados que fogem às abordagens teóricas, são citados os saltos das etapas descritas por estas e a não preferência exclusiva por países de menor distância psíquica. Foi relevante também a orientação internacional dos empreendedores, cujas redes de relacionamento englobavam agentes internacionais que por vezes influenciaram o processo, corroborando a abordagem das networks
