This paper proposes clarifying that - a hermeneutical - philosophical study of Plato's Phaedo dialogue enables us to capture the ethical dimension involving his philosophy. To this end, we will have as protagonist Socrates and his perspective on death. Plato proposes an ethical conception that maximizes the values linked to knowledge and founded a new interpretation of human existence. Let us try here to explain and systematize what is the attitude of Greek philosophy, not far from a philosophical praxis.
