A Comprehensive Musical Analysis of Bohemian Traditional Songs from the Sources of the Governmental Collection of 1819

Since 2000, a computer database of Bohemian traditional songs and their instrumental melodies has been developed at the ethnomusicology section of the Prague branch of Institute of Ethnology of Czech Academy of Sciences. Up to now, 6,000 songs have been analyzed in detail. The songs have been transcribed into nu¬merical codes and analyzed due to their tonality, melody and rhythm in relation to both their musical form and song lyrics.
