Jews in Kolín and Its Surroundings: Places of Memory

The bachelor thesis deals with the history of the Jewish population in Kolín and its surroundings, studies the material sights and the current relation to the cultural heritage after the extinction of the Jewish communities. The thesis is focused on selected localities in three different parts. In the first part which is devoted to Kolín's Jewish history, the history of the local Jewish community is summed up, followed by the description of material sights that the community have left and the aproach of the locals towards this heritageis summarized. In the other (smaller in extent) parts of the work, devoted to Přistoupim and Zásmuky, is proceeded similarly. Finally, the extent of the legacy and the relationship to it are compared
