Annotated translation: La Personne et le Sacré (WEIL, Simone: La Personne et le Sacré, in Écrits de Londres et dernières lettres, Paris: Éditions Gallimard, 1957, pp. 13-44)

First part of the bachelor thesis consists of a translation from French into Czech of a large part of the essay "La Personne et le sacré" of the French author Simone Weil, that was published by Éditions Gallimard publishing house in 1957 as a part of the collection of essays and letters Écrits de Londres et dernières lettres. The second part of the thesis offers a commentary of the translation that begins by a source text analysis, then continues with a chapter on the translation concept, the translation problems and their solutions.
