Development of European fencing and its current state. International and Czech and Slovak HEMA community.

Bachelor's work is focused on evolution of european fencing and it's practice today. The work is divided into three parts. First part provides description about evolution of different fencing styles and schools - fencing with longsword, messer, rapier and other weapons. It also aims to present famous fencing masters and their fencing manuscripts (fechtbuchs). In second part, there is a decription about practicing fencing today. This part also presents HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) community, it's beginning and activities today. Third part od the work provides comparison between fencing techniques of fencing masters and fencing in theatres and cinematography today. This part is based on interviews.
