THe historical development of Umanbator

(in English): The bachelor thesis deals with the historical development of Ulan Bator from its early beginning till today. First, it briefly describes the development of architecture in Mongolia before Mongols founded the nomadic monastic town of Ulan Bator. Three main chapters focus on urban buildings and architecture in the light of political and historical changes thus bringing an overall review of architecture evolution. In addition, the analyses of particular buildings such as Buddhist temples, socialist modernism palaces and contemporary buildings are included. The final part points out concepts which are trying to cope with the current problems of the city and outline its future prospects
