The theme of the thesis is to design a pedestrian bridge over a river. Out of two possible designs, the cable-stayed construction was chosen. The deck of the bridge is designed as a monolithic construction supported by cables from two inclined pylons. Two models were developed for the calculation of internal forces: a strut model for the longitudinal direction and a plate model for the perpendicular direction. These calculations were checked up by Finite Element Method (FEM) in SCIA Engineer 2017 software. Considerable part of the thesis was dedicated to the creation of so-called initial state.
