Representation of Crucial Years in Periodicals Doba (1945-1947) and Listy (1946-1948)

The main aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse in detail all the issues of the periodical Doba, which was published under the auspices of The Literary Department in the artistic organization Umělecká beseda between the years 19451947. In this context, the paper also tries to reflect the influence of the historical and social context of that time and its impact on the structure and content of the articles printed in the magazine. Such a characterization should help us to understand what were the main goals of the editors when they were working on the single issues, and thus, what role should this particular journal represent among the other post-war magazines. In the final part, the thesis also briefly deals with the way the magazine ended its publication and how it was afterwards replaced by Listy (19461948), the already highly-regarded magazine at that time, lead by Jindřich Chalupecký. For better orientation in the magazine, we created a contents page of the whole volume as well as an author index which are added at the end of the paper
