Jointly curated Housing Design exhibition called ‘Evolving Norms of British Housing’, as part of the London Festival of Architecture 2008. Co-curators were Michael Howe of mae architects, Matthew Lloyd of Matthew Lloyd Architects, Sam Price of Price and Myers, and urban designer Mandar Puranik. The premise is that the best homes and communities arise from a regular, some might say ordinary, pattern of urban or sub-urban residential development based on a logical and disciplined scale, often laid out in traditional street patterns, with highly considered plans and functional elevations. The exhibition featured representative schemes from 16 British practices, and explored fresh models for contextual 21st century housing that built on lessons...
