Internet-based, mobile and pervasive technologies provide the means for older people to establish and maintain intergenerational relationships over long distances. However the significance of this intergenerational context has been largely ignored when considering potential interactions and the design of new technologies. This workshop aims to explore what the important issues are when considering intergenerational contact as a significant context for design. The overarching objective of this workshop is to identify key research themes in respect of intergenerational communication and its implications for the design of interactive system
