“After my own experiences of having my perception of Christianity and Christians radically changed after a long period of being uninterruptedly influenced by social media for several years, I was interested to explore the ways in which popular social media sites (such as Facebook and Twitter) actively seek to structure perceptions of Christianity and the extent to which this structuring of perception of Christian people meets with success in the wider public among non-Christians but even among Christians themselves. This dissertation, then, outlines the process of conducting research on this topic.
