The Creux des Elaphes is a small natural cave in the Bauges Massif (Savoie, France). When it was discovered, in May 1994, the inventor was surprised by the presence of numerous bones, next to the ground, especially a skull and some important elements of the skeleton of a red deer (Cervus elaphus), hence the name of this cave. After indicating its place, chronicle of the discovery is related, then are mentionned the researches which have been undertaken there. The paléontologie site delivered notably elements of two skeletons of red deer and two others skeletons of aurochs (Bos primigenius), as well as small fauna, particulary mountain hare (Lepus timidus) and marmot (Marmota marmota).
