Anne-Marie Fourteau, Botany and Landscape. The Hedges in the parish of Berry (Sagonne). Botanical surveys undertaken in Great Britain have in certain cases established that a link can exist between the number of botanical species in a specific section of a hedge and the age of the hedge. This study attempts to adapt the method to a parish in Berry, Sagonne (Cher), whose characteristic is the existence of an area of open fields and an area of woodland. The choice of this ground was dictated by the presence of written documents which are relatively old, and especially a land plan dated 1704. The botanical study of 78 hedges, each 30 meters long enables us to ascertain that certain species of hedges or creeping plants prove by their presence...
