On December 12, 2015, the 196 members of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) adopted by consensus a new international climate agreement, the Paris Agreement. This treaty, which is the outcome of four years of intense negotiations, establishes a legal framework to organize the action of the international community against climate change after 2020.
