Sédimentation néogène, formes et dépôts quaternaires et néotectonique du Piémont NE de Kebdana (Maroc du NE)

The foothills to the rlordth-east of Kebdana has known a messenian sedimentation which ressembles the coral reefs. A first tectonic crisis bends the strata. The sandstone, the maries and the pliocene conglomerates are formed in a depressed structure. The movements at the end of the pliocene age appear in the region and provoke a late repetition of the fold formed at the end of the messenian age. After the deposition of pink villafranchian silt vast pediments are built up, strengthened by the moulouyian calcretes. Finally the pediments are faulted or folded by a continuous east-west tectonic deformation which recuts the old fold. The fluviatile terraces of the middle and recent quaternary age do not appear to be notably affected by the later movements.Le piémont NE des Kebdana a connu une sédimentation messinienne à faciès récifal ou subrécifal. Une première crise tectonique ploie ces assises. Les marnes, les grès et les conglomérats pliocènes s'installent dans une structure déprimée. Des mouvements fini-pliocènes se manifestent dans la région et provoquent un rejeu tardif de la flexure fini-messinienne. Après le dépôt de limons roses villafranchiens s'élaborent de vastes glacis consolidés par la dalle calcaire moulouyenne. Enfin ces glacis sont faillés ou flexurés par un accident EW très continu qui recoupe l'ancienne flexure. Les terrasses fluviatiles du Quaternaire moyen et récent ne paraissent pas notablement affectées par des mouvements tardifs.Barathon Jean-Jacques.
