The rescue excavations conducted in 2002 on the banks of the lake revealed several new houses or new rooms in houses that had been partially excavated before. First of all, in Zone 9, thanks to a mosaic unearthed by the waves, a house was located and investigated. It had two architectural phases. A room (room 2) belonged to the later phase, dated to the beginning of the Byzantine period. It had been built upon an earlier room (room I ) the mosaic pavement of which depicts, in a central panel, Gaia. Finally, a rock cut tomb shows that this area was a necropolis before being occu¬ pied by houses.
