On Punic funerary stelae, male representations show a recurring hair-cutting specificity which leads to wonder whether it is intentional or not. In order to answer this question, the A. first tried to characterize this specificity which can be linked to beard shave -when there is beard-and to define the context where it can be noticed. She observed that there were similar ones in Carthago itself and, more generally in the Phoenician-Punic world, on other male representations implemented on other supports. A broader extent of this search to the whole ancient world highlighted that specific usages in the Semitic area could explain it and, then, allowed to identify a ritual manner in hair-cutting and beard-shaving seen on Carthaginian funerary...
