Level of Wet Distillers Grains Plus Solubles and Solubles Ensiled with Wheat Straw for Growing Steers

A growing study compared wet distillers grains plus solubles (WDGS) and solubles ensiled with wheat straw individually fed to crossbred steers. Four blends of ensiled distillers grain and solubles were used to compare performance on growing calves versus feeding ensiled byproducts alone. Increasing the level of distillers grains in the diet increased average daily gain (ADG) and dry matter intake (DMI).
