This study is a general investigation of the personality of crippled children with special reference to their tendency toward neurotic symptoms, the measurement and evaluation of their social competence, and a study of the direction their interests and the level of their aspirations.Intellectual and social data, which are not obtainable through interviews with the subjects, are drawn from case records and reports of those who have worked with the children, and are introduced as factors in the study only to the extent to which they appear to be related.Attention has also been given to the attitude of the child toward his own handicap.
