The major objective of this experiment was to determine the effects of various fertilizer combinations with and without inoculation on the yield and cover of an alfalfa-bromegrass mixture. The effect of various fertilizer combinations with and without inoculation on N fixation and on some of the physical, chemical and biological properties of the soil was also determined in this experiment. A field study was made in western Iowa involving the establishment of alfalfa-bromegrass on Ida silt loam subsoil areas.
