The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of computer-assisted instruction upon reading achievement with selected fourth-grade students. The students in the study were given traditional reading instruction along with computer-assisted instruction. A comparison of this group with a group of students receiving only the traditional reading instruction was conducted. A review of selected literature was conducted to gain background and supportive information to the development of the study. One hundred thirty-two fourth-grade students comprised the experimental and control groups for the fifteen-week study.
