The High Voltage Circuit Breaker (HVCB) represents one of the most important and complex components in the energy transmission, it must be there to isolate faulted section of a network, interrupt fault and abnormal currents: due to non-linear loads (for example arc furnace) or other load variation. Nowadays, to reduce the cost of HVCB development, the numerical model based on physical considerations is used for designing circuit-breakers. However, whatever the operating conditions, the arc does not establish in pure SF6, which is currently the dielectric gas used in the HVCB.
