Coislin 79): Jan Chruzostom ofiarowuje rękopis swych homilii cesarzowi Nikeforowi III Botaniacie (f. 2v) i mnich Sabba nauczający cesarza (f. 2bis recto).The offering and reception of the luxury objects - jewelry, silk garments and textiles, vessels, ivory boxes, icons and books - to the emperor belonged to the ceremonial of the Byzantine court. In art, The most frequent in byzantine art is the offering of the luxury codex. The present paper focuses on the two miniatures in the Byzantine manuscript of the Homilies of John Chrysostom from the 11th century (Paris, BnF, Ms. Coislin 79): John Chrysostom offering a book of his homilies to the Emperor Nicephoros III Botaneiates (f. 2v) and the Monk Sabbas (?) reads to the Emperor (f. 2 bis recto)
