The prevalence of Chlamydia trachomatis (Ct) urogenital infection has been increasing in the last ten years in France. Undetected this infection can lead to serious complications. It is often asymptomatic. French guidelines of 2003 recommend the screening of female subjects under 25 years old. They also considered the screening of men under 30, which has not really been implemented, and called for epidemiological studies before extending the screening to general practice.
