The article briefly summarises past and current research on Milanese incunables, paying particular attention to Giuseppe Antonio Sassi\u2019s Historia literariotypograhica Mediolenensis ab anno 1465 ad annum 1500, included in the first volume of Filippo Argelati\u2019s Bibliotheca scriptorum Mediolanensium (1745). Sassi indicates the sources he drew on in identifying and describing the more than 500 incunables recorded in his book, thus enabling us to trace their presence in ecclesiastical and aristocratic libraries as well as in those of individual scholars.
